The Vermont Food Bank
The Vermont Foodbank is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, providing nutritious food through a network of more than 300 community partners, including food shelves, meal sites, senior centers, after-school programs, schools, and hospitals. They work in partnership with organizations like ours to ensure that everyone in Vermont has the food we all need to thrive.
Trader Joe’s
The Local Trader Joe’s store has been an invaluable partner with us since the very beginning. They make regular donations to the food shelf that ensures that we have enough fresh food for those in need. Trader Joe is committed to contributing to each local community they are a part of as an essential part of being a neighborhood grocery store.
Common Roots
For 13 years Common Roots, a local non-profit, has been providing five food access and education programs to our community. They grow certified, organic produce at the Farm at South Village, and the Hubbard property about 3 miles from the South Burlington Food Shelf. In 2021, Common Roots increased farm production to provide > 6,000 lbs. for families and households along with > $10,000 in fresh entrees from the Wheel House licensed kitchen and the Larkin Orchard. Participants select whatever they will use and excess food is delivered to Feeding Chittenden in Burlington.
